Railsled: Into the House of Benevolent Souls

Artist/roboticist Frank Rolla has to date served as the MOV-iN gallery's designer and preparator. With Railsled he has been given the reigns to manipulate the space according to his vision. The Railsled is a remote controlled drone set to follow the pre-laid map of the Western hemisphere's railway track system. Designed to respond in real-time to processed materials gathered from its immediate environment, it will gather data from the continents for the benefit of art and posterity. This project continues a series of Frank's objects which examine adaptive behavior through single gestures.
