Mindy McGovern - Liquid Sound - Video Projection: Soundwave/Liquids Manipulation

In conjunction with the Hyper-Action art show, Santa Fe artist Mindy McGovern offered this record of her experimentations in sound/organic material interaction. This was the latest in a string of pieces for College of Santa Fe art shows dating back to 1998.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

KeepAdding - Portal Mural/PS Painting - Spray Paint/Photoshop

April 28th thru May 12th 2006 (Mural up indefinitely)

In conjunction with the Hyper-Action art show, Santa Fe artist collective KeepAdding contributed a wall-sized outside mural in spray paint as well as a complex digital "painting" in Photoshop. Their work has been displayed in a large number of venues and art shows across the US and abroad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

David Stout - 100 Monkey Garden - Interactive EcoSystem

June 8th thru July 26th 2006

David Stout is a video/sound artist whose interactive installation work has been shown around the world. The 100 Monkey Garden, his latest piece, allows two seperate, artificial ecosystems to interact and change one another, with infinitely unpredictable results. He has been aided on 100 Monkey Garden by programmers Cory Metcalf and Luke DuBois. David is Professor of Moving Image Arts at the College of Santa Fe.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frank Joseph Rolla - Railsled: Into the House of Benevolent Souls - Robotic drone and video installation.

September 22nd thru October 20th 2006

Frank Rolla is a musician, roboticist and professional galllery preparator. Railsled is a project he has been perfecting for ten years. It consists of a video projection of the data accumulated during the wanderings of his self-designed railroad drone. This project is the latest in a series which has examined the real-time responses of circuitry to processed materials gathered from given environments.

See You in Hell is a stupefying and interminable ride in a shopping cart through one large discount store, shortly before the end of the world. Whose idea was this, anyway? Will we be punished later or is this it?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hisao Ihara - Fragment
video installation

January 26th - February 16th 2007

Fragment is a new installation that incorporates images from varied sources, including the artists surroundings, contemporary news footage as well as historical footage or war, and images found on the Internet. Ihara calls the exhibition contemporary poetry through video and says it is his attempt to recreate the contemporary perception of the world.

An animated investigation that is part memoir and part fiction - what the filmmaker calls "friction" - attempts to uncover the truth behind the mysterious life of Harvey Sinclaire Gypsy Moth. The collection of short musings, based on drawings and journal entries, is narrated by "Harvey Sinclaire," who is both an animated character and the viewer.

Deborah Fort (CSF Professor and Founding Director of Girls Film School) is an award-winning video and filmmaker who works primarily in installation, personal narrative and documentary forms. Fort's work has been broadcast on public television and screened in festivals throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to her installation projects, Fort is currently working on a documentary on Ruth Zaporah, an internationally acclaimed improvisational theater artist.
