MOV-iN

The MOV-iN Gallery, housed in the Department of Moving Image Arts at the College of Santa Fe, is an intimate exhibition space devoted to New Media and Time-Based artworks. Exhibitions feature a combination of CSF student, faculty and alumni artists, as well as, other prominent regional and international figures. The gallery is a vibrant addition to the Santa Fe arts community, providing a venue for a wide-range of moving image and interactive works including web art, video art, sound art, robotic sculpture and installation. The Gallery is an integral component of the Moving Image Arts program in Immersive Interactive Media, serving as a focal point and learning center for curators, gallery owners and collectors that are grappling with the many complexities associated with the exhibition and commerce of new media art forms.The MOV-iN Gallery is directed by MOV faculty-curator David Stout in collaboration with students enrolled in the New Media Exhibitions Course.

GALLERY DIRECTOR

MOV-iN Gallery curator David Stout , Associate Professor of Moving Image Arts at College of Santa Fe, is an interactive video-sound artist and one of the world's leading laptop performers exploring real-time cross-synthesis of sound and image. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Harvestworks Interactive Technology Award and the Sun Micro Systems Award for Academic Excellence. His work in interactive media includes electro-acoustic scores for stage and screen, live cinema, video-dance, database narrative, network performance and telematic video events that emphasize multi-screen projection as an extension of performer, audience and environment. His work has been exhibited internationally in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Professor Stout holds an inter-arts MFA in film,video and music from the California Institute of the Arts.
